Leading CT-based turnstile manufacturer teams up with GM Data Communications to implement an integrated security solution for high-profile CUNY NYC school.
Oxford, CT – November 5, 2020 – Aeroturn LLC, a leading turnstile manufacturer that offers 100% Made In The USA turnstiles, today announced that it has been selected to deploy its turnstiles at a CUNY school in NYC. Keeping students and employees safe is a huge priority at the school and with over 300 people entering the building daily, a quality turnstile solution was needed to accomplish this. Aeroturn’s XWing turnstiles fit the bill perfectly and was deployed at the CUNY school by GM Data Communications, Inc., a leading low-voltage security integrator that services the NYC tri-state area.
With a strong focus on schools, GM Data Communications had the right experience to bring the best security technology to the forefront for the school and teamed up with Aeroturn for the security upgrade. “Aeroturn continues to work closely with our low-voltage integrator partners like GM Data to deliver high quality turnstile solutions to schools across our nation,” states Michael Stoll, VP of Technical Sales & Marketing at Aeroturn. “The administrative staff at the CUNY school made it a seamless deployment as we were able to install everything quickly and efficiently and finished the project within one day.”
The CUNY school wanted to control pedestrian traffic for visitors, students and employees and ensure a safe environment for all. With two entrances in the front of the building right off the street, the college needed to deploy a durable, reliable turnstile solution that could withstand an influx of traffic coming in the building daily.
The deployment included 2 lanes of Aeroturn XWing turnstiles installed by the security desk entrance and 1 lane of XWing turnstiles installed by the Library/Lobby entrance, making it a safe haven for employees and students who access the school.
“Working with the Aeroturn team on this CUNY school turnstile project was an absolute pleasure from the support staff up to the President of the company,” states Michael Portoghese, RCDD, at GM Data Communications, Inc. In addition, the Aeroturn turnstiles were integrated with the ISONAS™ RC-04 reader controllers that were located on the entrance doors.
